Join us for this free event, Christmas at the Old Inn. The Old Inn is West Virginia’s first state park lodge, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930’s. This original 11 room lodge will be open for any visitors to tour and enjoy the Christmas décor.
Friday, December 12th: Open House from 1-4 p.m.
Tour the Old Inn and visit the individual rooms and discover the history of this building. Park naturalists will be on site to discuss how the Civilian Conservation Corps, Camp Morgan built Cacapon State Park and was so beneficial to the entire West Virginia State Park system.
Saturday, December 13th: Santa at the Old Inn from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Don’t forget your camera for this fun annual holiday event! Santa will have a special token for all, and a variety of holiday crafting stations will be available. Enjoy the Christmas decorations, a warm fire, and light holiday refreshments.
Saturday, December 13th: Christmas Social at the Old Inn from 2-4 p.m.
Listen to live traditional holiday music while enjoying some holiday themed games, puzzles, and crafts. These special crafts will be a holiday bird seed craft and a gingerbread house challenge to create a version of a park cabin or the Old Inn. Relax by the fireplace, and enjoy the holiday decor and light refreshments. Meet friends, old and new. This social is for everyone and all ages.
Saturday: December 13th: Christmas Carolling at the Lodge 6 p.m.
Bring your Christmas spirit! Holiday song books will be provided as we will carol through the park cabin loop and the lodge. Afterwards, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate by the fireplace.
