Opening Day – Summersville Lake State Park

We’re celebrating the official opening of the campground at Summersville Lake State Park on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and you’re invited!
Here’s what you can look forward to during our weekend celebration:
– Meet Isaiah Tuck from the History Channel’s series Alone. Tuck will sign autographs and share stories from his wilderness adventures.
– WVDNR Natural Resources Police and their amazing dogs from their K-9 program will showcase how they locate lost hikers and important items.
– NRAC (New River Alliance of Climbers) will be onsite to talk about climbing at the park and demonstrate climbing and bouldering techniques.
– Active Southern West Virginia will lead a group walk and share info about local outdoor opportunities.
– Visit Greater Summersville will distribute Visitor’s Guides and other promotional items.
– There will be food trucks and more!
