Nature Walk: Blackwater Falls - July 15, 2022

July 15, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Blackwater Falls State Park invite you to join interpretive guide and naturalist Paulita Cousin on an adventure to observe birds, butterflies and perhaps salamanders and other fauna in addition to taking a look at the current blooming wildflowers.

Bird life around the nature center can include Alder Flycatchers, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Purple Finch, and Swamp Sparrow in the variety of habitats right around Pendleton Lake.

In addition to butterflies, the edge of the Pendleton Lake and waterways flowing into it offer an opportunity to observe various dragonflies and damselflies.

Bring the whole family as we net some of the butterflies and dragonflies. Please wear appropriate hiking attire for the weather. It isn’t a long walk, but closed toed shoes are recommended.

Meet at the Nature Center at Blackwater Falls State Park at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022.
