National Trails Day-Full Moon Hike: Cass

Hike by the light of a full moon at Cass on June 03, 2023.
The “Strawberry Moon” hike at Cass Scenic Railroad begins from the visitor’s center at 8:30 p.m. This evening walk, led by Park Superintendent Marshall Markley or designee, is about three miles round trip with a slight grade, but mostly flat hiking. The hike is free and open to the public.
June’s full moon is known as the Strawberry Moon. Typically, the last full moon of Spring and the first of Summer. Traditionally called the Strawberry Moon because of the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during the month of June.
Also known as Birth Moon, Blooming Moon, Hatching Moon, Hot Moon and Rose Moon.
