Just a few days until we greet November at Blackwater Falls State Park. Enjoy these activities October 24-26, 2022. Activities begin at the nature center unless indicated.

Monday, October 24, 2022
Nature Center Open: 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

11:00 a.m.
Twisted Tie Dye
Oh that Brittany. She’s out to help you create a pumpkin tie dye design, traditional
tie dye or colored shirt tie dye. Craft fee: $10.00 adult sizes, $8.00 Youth sizes. Sizes and colors are limited. Open until 1 pm

1:00 p.m.
Feature Movie
Victor is at it again. Movie time and this one is about a monster comedy adventure as Dracula puts his grandson through “monster in training” boot camp. Rated PG. About 1.5 hours.

Spooky Leaf Hike
Park naturalist Paulita Cousin invited you on a walk along Balsam Fir Trail. About 1½ miles, 90 minutes. Dress for the weather. Enjoy being outdoors. YPP

Owl Power
Victor invites you to one of his favorite nature films about unique birds of the night: Owls. NR. Free to attend. About 1 hour.

11:30 a.m.
“Owl-O-Ween” – Masters of the Night.
Let’s learn about amazing adaptations of owls and try to talk like a barred owl. Sorry, no live owls but we’ll still hoot and learn about owls. About 45 minutes. YPP

1:00 p.m.
Spooky Leaf Craft
The park naturalist gets you busy using crayons and an iron to create a leaf “suncatcher.” Craft fee: 0.50¢

2:00 p.m.
Feature Movie
Victor gets a kick out of this hilarious film about witches attempting to reclaim their youth. Rated PG. Free. About 2 hours.

Bear Aware
Are you prepared to meet a Black Bear? Are they cuddly teddy bears? Can your actions harm a black bear? Can your reactions harm you? Join the park naturalist, Paulita, to hear some answers to these questions in more. About 1 hour. YPP

1:00 p.m.
Log Cabin Craft
Victor will help you use stain and glue to create a decorative wooden log cabin. While you craft, learn about Blackwater Falls and have fun. Craft fee: $10.00
