Mid-summer Fun: Twin Falls

July 15, 2022 - July 18, 2022

Mid summer fun continues at Twin Falls State Park. Join us July 15 -18, 2022 for these activities that include Civil War Days at the ballfield.

July 15 – 17, 2022
Civil War Days will be held at the Ballfield. It will be a reenactment presented by Wyoming County Historical museum and Hale’s Battery of the 22nd VA. Civil War Days is Friday July 15 – Sunday July 17. Come out and visit! Learn more at https://www.facebook.com/civilwardays/

Friday, July 15
• Reenactors begin arriving and setting up.
Saturday, July 16
• 10:00 a.m. Camp open to the public
• 2:00 p.m. Battle Reenactment
• 4:30 p.m. Dinner for Reenactors
• ?? p.m. Ghost stories with Bugs (time to be determined)
• 9:00 p.m. Cannon Night Fire
Sunday, July 17
• 10:00 a.m. Camp will open to the public
• 10:30 a.m. Church Service
• 1:30 p.m. Battle Reenactment

July 16, 2022 – Saturday

3:30 pm
Summit Trail Hike
Meet at the Trailhead
Let’s take a woodland trip on the Summit Trail. Through different forest structures. As the hike goes along we will learn a little about the forest at hand. Closed toed shoes recommended for this hike. (YPP)

6:00 pm:
Yard Games
In the Nature Center Yard
Come take a turn rolling the dice in Yahtzee. Or tossing a bean bag in a game of corn hole. These games will be set out in the yard of the nature center!

July 17, 2022 – Sunday

4:00 pm:
Tails, Scales, and Shells
At the Lodge out in the Courtyard
Many are fascinated by the way snakes slither. How turtles carry their shell. And how lizards actually live here. (YPP)

5:30 pm: Seeds a Plenty
Held at the Campground Fire Circle
Everywhere you look you’ll be able to see the product of a seed. There will be a short presentation about this process.

July 18, 2022 – Monday

4:30 pm:
Turtle Talk
In the Nature Center Yard
Come to a short talk presented by the Seasonal Naturalist. Learn about the amazing turtles that we have here in West Virginia. (YPP)

6:30 pm:
Tree ID
Will be held around the Nature Center
Come learn about some trees that can be found here in the state. You will learn simple tips on how to ID them. (YPP)
