An evening of music is slated for Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Pipestem Resort State Park in the outdoor amphitheater. The Makenzie Phipps and Band Concern is on stage from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Open to the public, there is ample parking.

Makenzie is a small town girl raised in beautiful Bluefield Virginia. Miss Makenzie LaRhea Phipps has been making her way around the music scene for quite some time now. Growing up Makenzie began performing at a young age. Strong vibrant vocals mix with her distinct unique voice, to weave a recipe for her own style of music. Makenzie has released her debut country single “Maybe” and has now been featured on Country Rebel and The Country Network.

Band members include Shane Begley, Jacob Brooks, and Rodney.

Shane Begley: Shane grew up 70 miles north of Nashville Tennessee being surrounded with many gifted musicians along the way, playing venues in multiple states. He has since released 3 albums and is now collaborating with Makenzie Phipps, co-writing originals, and playing drums in the band. Makenzie’s popular single, “Maybe”, features Shane as a co-writer.

Jacob Brooks: Jacob is Makenzie’s lead guitarist at only 20 years old. His music journey started as a student at stages music school in Princeton and he taught lessons there for a brief time.

Rodney: Rodney’s music passion blossomed as a youngster stationed in Germany serving in the US Army. Since then, he has had the pleasure of playing and touring with some amazing musicians in two bands, RUFF KUTT and Black Diamond. Over the years, he’s having the privilege to record with a multitude of talented individuals and blessed to have cut 3 albums.
