Late June Activities are Summer Fun: Pipestem
June 23 – June 25
Summer activities at Pipestem Resort State Park include wildlife games, archery, hiking and ultimate frisbee June 22-24, 2023. Activities are posted at the park each week and open to the public to attend and typically free unless indicated. The Nature Center is open Wednesday – Sunday from 11:00AM – 5:00PM. Come visit.

10:30 am – Wildlife of North America Game
Meet Julie at the Nature Center for a quiz game about North American wildlife. (40 minutes)
6:00 pm – Beginner Archery
Meet Bob and Bryce at the Campground store to practice your skills at archery. (1 hour) YPP
7:30 pm – Campfire Time!
Meet Bryce and Bob at campsite #38 to learn how to make char cloth, a fire-starting assistance, and make fire using primitive fire starters. We will also roast some marshmallows. Bring a camping chair if you have one. (1 hour) YPP

10:00 am – Lake Shore Hike
Meet Bryce at the pedestrian foot bridge that crosses the road near McKeever Lodge to see what we might find in nature. This hike will go down to the lake and travel along parts of the lake shore before joining the Cottage Trail back to the road. From there we will walk back to McKeever Lodge while enjoying views along the way. (1 ½ hours) YPP
11:00 am – Nature Hunt
Meet Bob at the Nature Center. He will hand out a list of objects outside to look for in Nature.(30 minutes) YPP
2:00 pm – Ultimate Frisbee
Meet Bryce at the Campground store to learn how to play Ultimate Frisbee. Not disc golf, but ultimate frisbee
4:00 pm – Pond Walk
Meet Bryce at the Nature Center to walk to the nearby old farm pond to see what critters we might find. (30 minutes) YPP

8:30 am – Sunday Service
Please join us at the Amphitheater for Sunday Service.
10:00 am – Country Roads Walk
Meet Bob at Park Headquarters to walk along the road and into the woods to learn some pre-park history. If you aren’t into history, a lively conversation with Bob is worth the walk. (1 – 1 ½ hrs.) YPP
5:00 pm – Bird Bingo
Come by the Activity Shelter at the Nature Center to join Julie in a few rounds of Bingo while learning interesting bird facts. (45 minutes) YPP
9:15 pm – Moth Night
Meet Julie at the Nature Center for an evening of “mothing”. We will attract moths using a white sheet and a black light. Bring a camera or a phone to capture moth moments. Bring a chair or blanket if you have one. (45 minutes) YPP
