Full Flower Moon Hike: Cass

Hike by the light of a full moon at Cass on May 14, 2022.
The “Flower Moon” hike at Cass Scenic Railroad begins from the visitors center (to the left of the Company Store facing the store) at 7:30 p.m. The evening walk is about three miles round trip with a slight grade, but mostly flat walking. Please wear sturdy winter footwear and clothing. Hike will be led by Park Superintendent Marshall Markley. The hike is open to the public and fee free.
May’s full Moon name is known as the Flower Moon according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac Traditionally called the Pink Moon it is also called Corn Planting Moon and the Milk Moon.
Also, if staying at Cass Scenic Railroad the Sunday night, May 16, 2022 there is a total lunar eclipse that will be visible across North and South America, Europe and Africa. It will begin at 9:32 p.m. EDT (0132 GMT) and last about 5 hours and 18 minutes, according to NASA’s Eclipse website.
