Friday Fun: Bluestone State Park

Join the fun on Friday August 5, 2022 at these traditional activities at a state park. Bluestone naturalist Jonathan Lipscomb invites family and friends to join him.
1:00-2:30pm
Chalk Art
The place to be is the Meador Bathhouse to create sidewalk chalk art. Let’s be creative enjoy being outside.
3-5 pm
Giant Bubbles and Water Rockets
Still at the Meador Bathhouse, we’re going play with some amazing bubbles and launch water rockets.Making huge bubbles is almost like magic.
6pm
Primitive Fire Starting
Naturalist Jonathan will be at the fire shelter behind the activities building to learn the basics of flint and steel fire starting. You’ll get to try your hand a starting fire without matches. *ypp
7-9pm
Weekly Campfire
The fire shelter below the activities building is the perfect gathering spot to swap stories, relax, and learn basic campfire cooking skills. We’ll be doing some cast iron or campfire food. Servings are $1 each
*ypp are young people for parks programs. These programs are focused on fun education for ages 6-16. However, all ages are welcome to attend.
** All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
