First Day Hike: Cedar Creek

January 1 @ 9:00 am 10:00 am

January 1, 2023

It will be a good morning to the new year at Cedar Creek State Park for a First Day Hike with Superintendent Ben Leedom and Assistant Superintendent Daniel Conrad.

Leedom says: “Our morning will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the gray log cabin / campground check-in building located just before the campground on the right to get organized.  Then we’ll drive up through the campground to the trailhead for our hike/walk. We’ll take a group selfie at a beautiful old chimney along the trail.”

This First Day Hike on January 1, 2023 is doable for all ages and skill levels. Allow about an hour of time to be outdoors.  The walk/hike is about a ½ mile of walking.  Folks interested can call Cedar Creek State Park at 304-462-8517 for more information.

First Day Hikes are part of a nationwide initiative led by America’s State Parks to get people outdoors, with over 400 hikes scheduled this year in all 50 states. Kids and adults all across America will be participating in First Day Hikes, getting their hearts pumping and enjoying the beauty of a state park.
