Birds. Creek Crawl. Bear Hole 10K/5K: Twin Falls
June 23, 2023 – June 24, 2023
A weekend filled with all sorts of activities. Naturalist Tammy Cooper and Ace England invite you to attend these activities on June 23-24, 2023. Activities are free to attend and open to the public unless noted.
FRIDAY, June 23, 2023
8:00 am – “Birding Basics”
Meet Tammy at the front entrance of the Lodge for a short walk to learn some simple and basic principles to see more of our feathered friends in your backyard and ways to identify these feathered friends using a field guide. No birding experience necessary; seasoned birders welcomed. (YPP)
2:00 – 4:00 pm Nature Center is open!
5:00 pm – “Creek Crawl with Ace”!
Meet Ace England, the summer outdoor assistant at the Falls Trail parking lot to explore the creek. Kids and adults will wade the creek carefully turning over small rocks looking for stream insects and crustaceans. Program will last 1.5 Hours Prepare to be wet. Wear shoes that can get wet. (YPP)
SPECIAL MUSIC!!
6:00 – 10:00 pm – George Dorne and the Trailer Park Poets
Live music in the Courtyard. This is a free concert and is open to the public. Twin Falls Restaurant will have a cash bar and menu options that can be ordered and taken to the Courtyard. Come on for a great evening outdoors with music and friends.
SATURDAY, June 24, 2023
7:00 – 10:00 am – THE Bearhole Road Race!
Our 39th Annual Bearhole Race will be underway. This is a 5K/10K road race, if you would like to participate in this race, registration begins at 7:00am near the splash pad race begins at 8:00 am sharp. The fee for the race is $25.00 per racer. Come on and run at Twin Falls!
4:00pm – “Hike with Ace”
Meet Ace at the Scout field to venture out along the Huckleberry Trail. This trail is 1-1/3 miles and has some steep sections. Sturdy shoes are a great idea, dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times. Bring H20 (Water) and immerse yourself in nature. (YPP)
7:00pm. – “Ghost Stories with Bugs Stover”
Meet at the campfire circle located beside the Campground store for an evening of spooky tales from here on the Park with our friend to parks, Bugs Stover.
Twin Falls State Park offers family-friendly activities every week and each week is different.
