WonderFall Hike: Blackwater Falls State Park

October 4 @ 11:00 am

Take in the fall colors with the seasonal naturalist beginning at the nature center for this 1.5-mile loop through a northern hardwood forest on Balsam Fir Trail. Well-behaved and leashed pets are welcome to attend this activity with their owner. Complete the entire trail with the naturalist to earn your WonderFall hiking patch. This hike will take about 70 minutes. The program is open to all ages. Sturdy shoes recommended.

The trail has little change in elevation but has areas that contain roots, rocks, and mud. This program qualifies for one of the three required activities for the Young People for Parks program for youth ages 6-16 to earn the Young People for Parks Patch or rattlesnake pin. Pre-registration is not required. Ask the nature center staff about these programs at (304) 259-5511.
