Live Birds of Prey – Blackwater Falls State Park

July 19 @ 7:30 pm

Live birds of prey at Blackwater Falls State Park will be presented by the Three Rivers Avian Center (TRAC) at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The educational birds are a great opportunity to learn what birds say “who cooks for me, who cooks for you all?” as well as meeting other raptors.

This evening program is all about raptors native to West Virginia: hawks, eagles, falcons and owls! You’ll learn about the habitat, diet and behavior of each bird presented, the most common causes of injury to each species and the laws protecting these special birds.

This is a free, family-friendly event! The program will last about an hour and is staged in the Harr Center located in Blackwater Falls Lodge. Questions are welcomed. This is an excellent presentation for all ages. Join us for this evening with the raptors with your park naturalist and park guests, Three Rivers Avian Center and the educational raptors!
