Hike by the light of a full moon at Cass on August 13, 2022.

The “Sturgeon Moon” hike at Cass Scenic Railroad begins from the visitors center (to the left of the Company Store facing the store) at 7:30 p.m. The evening walk is about three miles round trip with a slight grade, but mostly flat walking. Please wear sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing for autumn-like evening temperatures.. Hike will be led by Park Superintendent Marshall Markley. The hike is open to the public and fee free.

August’s full moon name is known as the Sturgeon Moon according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac and also known as a Green Corn Moon.
