Groundskeeper – Cacapon State Park
Under the direction and scheduling of supervisors, employee will be available to work all shifts necessary for park maintenance operations. This may include a rotating shift, evenings, days, nights, weekends and holidays. Under general supervision, performs work to improve the appearance, repair, and general care of park grounds. Participates in grounds maintenance, including trimming trees, cutting grass, and cultivating plants and shrubs. Performs preventive maintenance pertaining to grounds area. Operates various types of equipment including but not limited to power saws, wood splitter, weed eaters, chain saws, various mowing implements and other equipment as is necessary to complete work. Trash pick up. Water and sewer line repair. Snow removal. Housekeeping and janitorial work. Splitting wood and delivering throughout the park. Use of various hand tools. Individual in this position must have a working knowledge of golf course operation and maintenance. They must be well versed in the area of turf care and proper mowing techniques. Works with chemicals, pesticides and herbicides. Individual will have a working knowledge of landscaping and irrigation. Individual should have a working knowledge of the many and various threats to golf course vegetation; and how to combat them. Employee will work with park guests to immediately resolve their maintenance requests in a manner reflecting a positive image for Cacapon State Park. Employee will keep all documentation and records as required by supervisors. Performs all related and non-related work as required by supervisors.
Wage: $10.00
Special Requirements
Employee will be available to work weekends, holidays, evening, and night shift.
Employee will be available for “on call” work.
Employee will be able to lift and move heavy objects.
Employee will be required to work on ladders and at roof top heights.
Employee will wear assigned uniforms.
Employee subject to all required Division of Personnel, DNR and Park Policies. Employee will possess and maintain valid driver’s license.
