DESCRIPTION:Pipestem Resort sits on the east rim of the Bluestone River Gorge\, which carves through the plateau to the scenic Bluestone River 1\,200 feet below. DESCRIPTION:Since 2006\, Guitar Weekend at Twin Falls Resort Park is a workshop that matches beginning\, intermediate\, and advanced guitar students with two nationally known instructors Robin Kessinger\, and Robert Shafer. SUMMARY:Full Worm Moon Hike: Cass
DESCRIPTION:Today’s hike is both a Full Moon Hike and a Green Day Hike invitation. Come hike. \nHike by the light of a full or near full moon at Cass on March 19\, 2022. \nThe “Worm Moon” hike at Cass Scenic Railroad begins from the visitors center (to the left of the Company Store facing the store) at 6:30 p.m. The evening walk is about three miles round trip with a slight grade\, but mostly flat walking. Please wear sturdy winter footwear and clothing. Hike will be led by Park Superintendent Marshall Markley. The hike is open to the public and fee free. \nThis hike is one of the Green Day Hike activities. In mid-March spring greening may be occurring\, however\, more than likely there will be snow. Folks hiking the Full Moon Hike will also be a Green Day Hike participant and receive a patch at the conclusion. \nMarch’s full Moon name is known as the Worm Moon according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac comes from a number of places\, including Native American\, Colonial American\, and European sources. Traditionally\, each full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred\, not only to the full Moon. \nMarch’s full Moon goes by the name Worm Moon\, which was originally thought to refer to the earthworms that appear as the soil warms in spring. DESCRIPTION:Spring hikes to observe wildflowers of Chief Logan State Park continues with the 39th year of hikes offered known as the Sun Browning Wildflower hikes. Lead by Lauren Cole and volunteers\, two hikes are planned. \nThe 9:00 a.m. hike will be on the Woodpecker Trail with a distance of three miles. This trail is modertate to strenous but the energy to hike this trail is rewarded with spring beauty. \nThe 1:00 p.m. Hike will be on the Fitness and Shawnee trails. This hike is about two miles but easy and recommended for any age. With a one gentle uphill area\, often spring wildflowers surprise hikers in unusual locations. The hikes are free to attend. The Annual Make It Shine Day is scheduled for April 2\, 2022 beginning at 8:00 a.m. A full day of volunteer service that includes lunch and concludes at 4:00p.m. Event will be held rain or shine. All participants must pre-register for a campsite to be included in the free camping weekend. This is the 12th year we have offered free camping for volunteers that preregister for the public service event. Spring camping has some of the best weather and cleanup events often introduce volunteers to consider earlier camping. \nAll ages\, families and individuals work together for the betterment of Beech Fork State Park. Past cleanup days have proven to make this event not only productive\, but enjoyable for all participants.
