Tossed in a West Virginia-sourced maple syrup dijon vinaigrette\, and sprinkled with candied pecans. DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again\, when the eagles are becoming more active along the New River and Bluestone Lake! Join the Pipestem Resort State Park Naturalist during March for eagle caravans to the nearby Bluestone Lake. The Southern WV Eagle Brigade is a growing group of eagle observers who have monitored eagle nests\, breeding\, and fledging in the Pipestem/New River area and have documented their findings since 2006. Join us as we survey the sky for eagles. Numerous sites are designated and hosted by a member of the Eagle Brigade. You do not have to be an expert to spot raptors – an eagle brigade host will be there to help. There is a survey document to record sightings\, times and locations. \n\n\n\nAll participants should meet at McKeever Lodge at the designated time and caravan together to Bluestone Lake. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, please contact park naturalist\, Julie McQuade at (304) 466-1800.

SUMMARY:Green Day Hike – Watoga State Park
DESCRIPTION:Meet at the Activities Building/Nature Center. We will be on the lookout for the first signs of spring as we hike a 5-mile loop on the Bearpen\, North Boundary\, and Buck & Doe Trails. Along the hike\, we will see the remains of a Civilian Conservation Corps quarry and visit the site of the 1926 Watoga State Forest Fire Tower. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes\, and a walking stick is recommended. Make sure you bring a snack and something to drink. Participants will receive a Green Day Patch.

SUMMARY:Green Day Hike – Blackwater Falls State Park
DESCRIPTION:Meet a Naturalist in the Blackwater Lodge lobby for this loop hike along sections of several different park trails. Expect wet\, muddy trail conditions and uneven terrain\, with the last leg of the hike a long\, steep descent. Make sure to dress for the unpredictable Spring weather. Participants will receive a WV State Parks Green Day Hike patch.
