SUMMARY:First Day Hike: Twin Falls
DESCRIPTION:When Naturalist Tammy Cooper says\, “Rain\, snow\, cold. We go!’ you can bet that 2023 is going to be an awesome year to be outdoors. The First Day Hike on January 1\, 2023 at Twin Falls Resort State Park will be on the Cliffside Trail and starting at 1:00 p.m. Arrival 10-15 minutes prior to the hike start is encouraged. Meet at the campground store. \nCooper says to dress for the weather and wear good boots or hiking shoes. If you have a walking stick or poles it doesn’t hurt to bring them along. The trail is easy until the cliff area which is considered moderate to strenuous access depending upon whether there is snow cover. This is a hike\, however\, stopping to look at tracks and conversation about the viewshed\, the different rock outcroppings\, and sounds of winter may cause a pause for nature. \nAn avid hunter and student of heritage\, “Into the Woods with Cooper” is never dull. The First Day Hike is open to the public and at no cost. Children are welcome but must bring an adult with them on the hike. \nFirst Day Hikes are part of a nationwide initiative led by America’s State Parks to get people outdoors\, with over 400 hikes scheduled this year in all 50 states. Kids and adults all across America will be participating in First Day Hikes\, getting their hearts pumping and enjoying the beauty of a state park. \nReserve lodging online: \nBook Now
