This is a Young People for Parks program (YPP). \n\n\n\n5:00 p.m. Shining Light on the Dark — Join the seasonal naturalist for some sundown fun. There is many aspects of nature that occur between dusk and dawn but many people feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar with being outdoors at night. Enjoy some nighttime activities as we explore our senses. Some walking. Activity is entirely outdoors so dress for the weather. Please\, leave flashlight off during the program. About 1 hour. YPP \n\n\n\n*************************Saturday\, January 13\, through Saturday\, January 20\, 2024Nature Center Open: 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. \n\n\n\n11:00 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. The Wonders of the Cosmos: NASA STARDOME: Stories in theSky! — Participants will enter the star dome through a tunnel and be introduced to a “star-filled” sky. The naturalist will navigate with the use of a digital planetarium through some common constellations and stars. Participants will be introduced to Greek mythological characters\, how ancient people related toconstellations\, then used their imagination to create a pattern in the stars with a story. About 1 hour. Seating inside the dome is limited to first come basis. Seating is on the floor but accommodations are available for those unable to sit on the floor due to age or disability; please let the attendant know if you require alternative seating.
