Lighting and decorations accent the lumber town streets and structures from Thanksgiving Weekend\, November 26\, 2022 until January 15\, 2023. \nNote: The train will be operating on December 2\, 3\, 4 and December 9\, 10\, and 11\, 2022. There are many wildlife pelts you can touch! Fox\, bobcat\, coyote\, beaver & more! \n1:00PMChristmas Crafting with NatureMake & Take holiday ornaments using card board & milkweed seeds/pods. \nVisit our Tom Ambrose Nature Center! The nature center is a great stop for all ages\, showcasing exhibits on the park history and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Morgan 1934-41. Other West Virginia natural exhibits include an extensive taxidermy collection of wildlife- fish\, birds\, fox\, bobcat\, mountain lion\, deer\, elk\, and eastern grey wolf! SUMMARY:Full Cold Moon Hike: North Bend
DESCRIPTION:Humankind has had a long and interesting relationship with the full moon. It has cemented itsplace in folklore\, acted as a signal for farmers and signified the changing of the seasons. The full moon of December is most commonly known as the Full Cold Moon. \nSpend the evening of Wednesday\, December 7\, 2022 exploring the riverside of the Southern Railroad Trail.We will discuss lore\, myth and other nighttime nature fun facts. \nMeet the naturalist at the River Run Campground Check-in station at 5:30 PM This is a 1.6-milehike with easy graded tread. Make sure to dress appropriately for winter conditions and wear closed toe shoes. Flashlights are recommended.
