DESCRIPTION:The Nature Center is open from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday – Sunday. Enjoy our exhibits\, bird watching area and historic structures. There are activities planned that are open to the public and without charge May 3 – May 8\, 2022. \nWednesday\, May 4\, 2022\n2:00 pm\nNature Center Open House\nMeet Bob Duffy at the Nature Center for information on the exhibits in and around our Nature Center\, including the historic Harris Cabin. Bob enjoys talking and meeting visitors. \nThursday\, May 5\, 2022\n5:00 pm\nWildlife of North America Game\nMeet Julie at the Nature Center for a quiz game about North American wildlife. \nFriday\, May 6\, 2022\n10:00 am\nDogwood Hike\nMeet Bob at the Nature Center for a little exercise while hiking along the Dogwood Trail. (1 hour) \nSaturday\, May 7\, 2022\n10:00 am\nBird Count\nStop by the Nature Center to observe and count the birds at the feeders. We will count the highest number of each species seen at a time and the count will be submitted to ebird.org. \n2:00 pm\nNature Hunt\nMeet Bob at the Nature Center. He will distribute a list of objects outside to look for in Nature. (1/2 – 1 hour) \n3:00 pm\nMammals of Pipestem\nMeet Julie at the Nature Center to learn about seven different mammals you may encounter at Pipestem and see their pelts. \nSunday\, May 8\, 2022\n10:00 am\nBarney Law Orchard Walk\nMeet Bob at the Nature Center for a short hike to the homesite and orchard of former park resident\, Barney Law. \n2:00 pm\nHummingbirds: Magic in the Air\nMeet Julie at the Activity Shelter behind the Nature Center to learn about this amazing little bird.
