SUMMARY:Weekend Nature Activities: Pipestem
DESCRIPTION:Pipestem Resort sits on the east rim of the Bluestone River Gorge\, which carves through the plateau to the scenic Bluestone River 1\,200 feet below. Visit the Nature Center\, which is open Wednesday – Sunday\, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm except for times when other activities listed below are scheduled. \nOpen to the public\, spend time at the exhibits and heritage structures and sit a spell in our West Virginia made rocking chairs and watch the birds. \nActivities planned March 17-20\, 2022 include: \nThursday\, March 17\, 2022\n5:00 pm\nWildlife of North America Game\nMeet Julie at the Nature Center for a quiz game about North American wildlife. \nFriday\, March 18\, 2022\n4:30 pm\nNature Center Open House\nMeet Julie at the Nature Center for information on the exhibits in our Nature Center. \nSaturday\, March 19\, 2022\n5:00 pm\nMammals of Pipestem\nMeet Julie at the Nature Center to learn about seven different mammals you may encounter at Pipestem and see their pelts. \nNoon\nBird Count\nStop by the Nature Center to observe and count the birds at the feeders. We will count the highest number of each species seen at a time. Data collected will be submitted to Project FeederWatch for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. In addition this week’s bird counts will be submitted as part of the Annual Great Backyard Bird Count. \n2:00 pm\nNature Hunt\nMeet Julie at the Nature Center. She will hand out a list of objects outside to look for in Nature. (1/2 – 1 hour) \nSunday\, March 20\, 2022\n8:30 am\nSunday Service\nJoin us in the Faulconer Room for Sunday Service. \n11:00 am\nBird Count\nStop by the Nature Center to observe and count the birds at the feeders. SUMMARY:Guitar Weekend/Workshop: Twin Falls
DESCRIPTION:Since 2006\, Guitar Weekend at Twin Falls Resort Park is a workshop that matches beginning\, intermediate\, and advanced guitar students with two nationally known instructors Robin Kessinger\, and Robert Shafer. If you’ve been to a festival or heard them play\, you know you’re in for a great weekend. In addition to challenging classes\, there will be an instructors concert\, a nightly jam session\, and an opportunity for students to perform on stage if they wish to do so. The 16th annual Guitar Workshop weekend is March 18-20\, 2022. \nFriday March 18\, 2022\n2022 Guitar workshop begins at 7:00p.m. in the Azalea Room. \nSaturday – 9:00 a.m. Azalea Room\nClassroom work with instructors\, jam sessions\, and concert. SUMMARY:Full Moon Hike: Chief Logan
DESCRIPTION:Hike by the light of the moon at Chief Logan State Park on Friday\, March 18\, 2022. Meet Naturalist Lauren Cole at 9:00 PM at the Museum in the Park. The hike will be on Cliffside Trail. \nThe moon will be at 97% but it’s close enough to full to be a great evening out. Moon rises at 8:13\, so by 9:00 p.m. it should be late enough to give us plenty of moonlight to hike by and to have our night vision. There is no fee to participate.
