West Virginia Day at Tygart Lake

June 19, 2018 @ 9:01 pm

In addition to swimming, boating and hiking, enjoy these planned activities and programs for West Virginia’s 155th birthday:

  • 11 a.m. Create-a-Cardinal Craft – Learn about our state bird, the Northern Cardinal, while you craft one out of paper! We may see our state bird and others when at the Nature Center. What cheer! (30 minutes)
  • 2 p.m. Viewing of a State Born From a Nation Torn – This entertaining video details each region of the state, and its role in the Civil War and West Virginia Statehood. (1 hour)

The Nature Center is typically open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit our exhibits and interpretive areas. Nature Center and activities are appropriate for everyone and free unless otherwise noted on the schedule. Unless noted, planned activities are conducted at Tygart Lake Nature Center.
