Weekend Activities at Chief Logan

Saturday and Sunday afternoon features Wildlife Exhibit Tours from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 pm. Visit the wildlife exhibit and ask the attendant for a special tour! Take time at each exhibit to learn facts about wildlife. Otherwise, naturalist Lauren Cole will be at the bear paddock, working with the bears and talking about the dangers of feeding wildlife. Exhibit closes in rain or inclement weather. The exhibit is located at the end of a short drive from the museum/park office.
Friday evening, October 9, invites individuals and families to an Evening Guided Nature Hike beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Chief Logan State Park Museum. Join Naturalist Lauren Cole for a hike on the Cliffside Trail which is about a mile in length. The activity is suitable for beginning hikers and the evening focus will be about trees, birds, flowers and insects. It is an easy hike, but rocks and roots may be encountered.
A Saturday Morning Starter Hike begins at 10:00 a.m. at Chief Logan Museum. Just getting into hiking, or never tried? Join Lauren the chatty Naturalist for a beginner hike to get started on the right foot! Learn basic hiking and outdoor safety and Leave No Trace principles. Cliffside Trail, 1 mile. The hike is paced. It isn’t a race. It’s a let’s get started hiking opportunity and open to any person interested in getting outdoors more. It’s an easy hike, but some parts of the trail may have rocks and roots. Wear closed-toe shoes. No sandals or flip-flops. Let’s hike.
When attending programmed activities, attendees will maintain physical distancing and wear masks when requested.
