Weekend Activities at Blackwater Falls

Halloween Weekend brings out the fun and games at Blackwater Falls State Park from a flashlight egg haunt to the Howl-O-Ween Mutt Strut and Costume Parade. Unless noted, activities begin at the nature center.

FLASHLIGHT EGG HAUNT!
Join the staff at Pendleton Point to begin your adventure along park trails and park roads in search of eggs and candy. Event last
until 7:00 p.m. or when candy supplies gone. Costumes encouraged.
Anybody wanting to volunteer to hand out candy and decorate a picnic site should contact Paulita at 304-259-5511 or [email protected] before Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

The nature center is open today from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Spooky Leaf Hike
Join park naturalist Paulita, on a walk along balsam Fir Trail . About 1.5 miles, 90 minutes. YPP
Fall Paddle Prowl
Join naturalist Madelene and enjoy the fall along Pendleton Lake. Meet us at the boat rental and rent a boat for this tour or bring your own boat! Lifejackets mandatory. Fun for the whole family. About 1.5 hours.
Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Pick up a list of fun things to find. Return completed list by 1:00 p.m. to earn a small prize from our prize box.
11:30 a.m. Spooky Leaf Craft
Park Naturalist Paulita shares some amazing adaptations of owls and try to talk like a barred owl. About 45 minutes. YPP
HOWL-O-WEEN Mutt Strut & Costume Parade
Meet us at the Blackwater Falls Overflow/Bus Parking near the park intersection to show off your wicked or whimsical costume and bring your
four legged friend. As we walk along a section of park roads and through the campground. Dogs must be leashed. Campground guest are welcomed to hand individually wrapped candy to kids.
