Weekend Activities at Blackwater Falls

9:30 a.m. Interdenominational Worship with Pastor Ruth at Pendleton Point Overlook. Everyone welcome and dress is casual.

10:30 a.m. Summer Wildflower Stroll
It’s a Sunday short and easy stroll around the area to look for some summer wildflowers and how to identify them. About 45 minutes. Little walking. YPP

11:30 a.m. Nature Stroll & Nature Print
Another nature stroll around the area is in store and then create a beautiful picture by exposing it to the sun. No Fee. YPP

1:00 p.m. Pollinator Power
Let’s make a bee bracelet then stroll outside to check out the native pollinator garden and discover why native grasses are important, why pollinators are important and perhaps learn about couple native pollinators. All attendees get their name entered in a drawing for a backpack rain cover. Craft fee: $2.00 YPP

2:00 p.m. I Spy Way Up High
Make a weather window, learn about clouds, then go outside and lay back to observe clouds while using imagination to create fun shapes. About one hour. Little walking. YPP

3:30 p.m. Yard Yahtzee
Learn how to play Yahtzee in the yard. Big dice for a great game of Yahtzee. About 45 minutes. YPP

4:30 p.m. Snipe Hunt
It is a fun game with a hint of interpretation. Is the snipe real? The object of the game is to be the first team/person to find the target snipe and return it to its nest. About 45 minutes. YPP

Blackwater Falls Nature Center is open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. All activities meet at the nature center unless otherwise noted.
