Wednesday Activities at North Bend
June 26, 2018 @ 9:01 pm
The place to be for outdoor fun and nature is North Bend State Park. Activities on Wednesday include:
- 10 a.m. Hike the Fisherman’s Trail. Winding its way along the edge of the lake, the tread surface is smooth and relatively easy, making it a great hike for any skill level and age. Be sure to keep a look out for red-headed woodpeckers, great blue herons and other inhabitants of this special ecosystem. Meet at the Cokeley Recreation Area Bathhouse. (1 hour, 1 mile) YPP
- 12–2 p.m. Enjoy arts and crafts and a chance to meet some of our wildlife friends at the Nature Center. Take a look around and marvel at the mysteries of nature.
- 3 p.m. Make your own real, working turkey call! Did you know that during our nation’s founding, this bird was in competition with the bald eagle to be the symbol of our country? Learn fascinating facts about one of this common but seldom seen bird. Meet in the Nature Center. (1 hour) YPP
- 5 p.m. Take on all challengers and test your skill at putting through the nine mini golf holes at the Lodge. Individual scores will be counted, and prizes will be awarded to top finishers. Equipment and space is limited, so show up early to participate in the fun! Meet in the Lobby of the Lodge. (1 hour)
