Tuesday Activities at North Bend

The following Tuesday activities are planned at North Bend State Park:

  • 9–11 a.m. Nature Center Open – Come inside to enjoy arts and crafts and a chance to meet some of our wildlife friends. Take a look around and marvel at the mysteries of nature.
  • 11 a.m. Educational Tree Program – Trees can communicate with each other in so many amazing ways. Science has discovered that there is a“Wide Wood Web” where trees are connected and actually interact with each other in the forest. Join the park naturalist in exploring how trees talk and transfer information back and forth as you hike the Giant Tree Trail at North Bend. Meet at Basecamp. (1hour) YPP
  • 1:30 p.m. Cavity Nesting Birds Program – Many birds in the forests of North Bend excavate nests in order to raise their young. Explore the local landscape for these special animals and discover how they are able to create their nests and make their homes. Learn all about this important adaptation as you make your very own cavity nest model for a woodpecker, nuthatch, or any other cavity nester you learn about to take home with you. Meet in the Nature Center. (1.25 hours) YPP
