Tuesday Activities at North Bend
June 25, 2018 @ 9:01 pm
The place to be for outdoor fun and nature is North Bend State Park. Activities on Tuesday include:
- 9:30 a.m. Hike the old railroad along the North Fork of the Hughes River while learning about local wildlife and plant species. This trail brings you right through the “north bend” in the river, the park’s namesake! A smooth trail for hikers of all skill levels. Meet at the River Run Campground Check in Station. (1 hour, 1 mile). YPP
- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Enjoy arts and crafts and a chance to meet some of our wildlife friends at the Nature Center. Take a look around and marvel at the mysteries of nature.
- 2 p.m. Explore the small world of insects and their kin in a big way with the park naturalist. After learning about how to identify these small wonders, we will journey outside with nets to capture a few and check them out with a magnifying glass. Meet at the Nature Center. (1 hour) YPP
- 3:30 p.m. Take a break and use your imagination or stencils to create a beautiful work of art out of sand. Sketch out your picture, trace it with glue, and sprinkle it with sand. Viola, sand art! Meet at the Nature Center. (1 hour)
