Thursday Activities at North Bend

The place to be for outdoor fun and nature is North Bend State Park. Scheduled activities include:
- 11:30 a.m. All about Trees Hike – Explore the common trees of North Bend and learn how to identify them and the important role they serve in the ecosystem. We will focus on trees along the Extra Mile Trail and a portion of the Access Trail, with both trails being flat and easy to walk on. This short loop is suitable for all skill levels. We will meet at the Nature Center. (1 hour) YPP
- 1:30 p.m. – Soda Pop Bottle Fish Craft – Reuse an old soda pop bottle to make your very own fish! All materials are provided for this craft so just bring yourself and your creativity. Fish come in all kinds of bright and fun colors and shapes, what will yours look like? Meet at the Nature Center. (1 hour)
- 3-5 p.m. Nature Center Open – Come inside to enjoy arts and crafts and a chance to meet some of our wildlife friends. Take a look around and marvel at the mysteries of nature.
- 6 p.m. Shuffleboard Game – For years, shuffleboard has a been a favorite of North Bend park guests. Learn this fun and leisurely game that is a great fit for all ages and skill levels. No experience or equipment are necessary, so just come out and bring your friends to experience this enjoyable game. Meet in the Lobby of the North Bend Lodge. (1 hour)
Young People for Parks Program (YPP) is an Environmental Education Program for children 6-16. Children need to attend three YPP activities during their stay at North Bend. Children will receive a certificate and a prize.
