Kids to Parks Day is the National Park Trust’s 12th annual celebration. \nKids (and adults) like to be outside and like seeing wildlife. Today we’ll meet at the amphitheater parking lot at 4:00pm. There is plenty of parking. The Still Run Ridge Trail is about 2.5 miles with some steep terrain but nothing major and more of a moderate level according to hike leader Tammy Cooper. If the water is up there would be two creek crossings\, but not deep water\, but your feet would get wet. \n“We’ll look for wild turkey signs and we’ll talk about that big game bird\, how they talk with each other\, what they eat\, where they sleep and maybe learn about the history of this bird in West Virginia’s history and wildlife management. This hike is fun. We move a little. We stand some to listen for wild turkeys and other birds of the forest.” \nCooper is an avid outdoors woman and a certified guide (NAI/CIG). She welcomes families and particularly youth to activities and programs at Twin Falls Resort State Park. There is no fee to participate. Kids get a sticker. Hike is open to any age. Youngsters should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \n6:30 pm\nTree ID\nMeet us at the Nature Center for a short hike in the evening We will ID some trees and learn a little something special about each tree. \nSunday\, May 22\, 2022\n3:30 pm\nPollinator Field\nMeet at the Nature Center for a short hike from the nature center to the pollinator field.
