Things to Do at Twin Falls

Don’t miss these things to do at Twin Falls Resort State Park, August 19-23, 2019.

MONDAY, August 19, 2019

10:00 a.m.- Soundscape! What is a soundscape you might ask? A soundscape is the acoustic environment as perceived by humans. Drawing what you hear the way you would perceive the sound to “look.” Meet Tammy the Naturalist at the lower parking lot to walk the Summit Trail for this endeavor. The trail is a one mile moderate rolling loop through the forests.

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Nature Center is open.

WEDNESDAY, August 21, 2019

10:00 a.m. – Hike the Huckleberry! This 1.3 mile hike winds along the Pioneer Farm with some steep sections, but nothing slowing down a bit can’t handle. Meet at the Scout Field.

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Nature Center is Open

THURSDAY, August 22, 2019

10:00 a.m. – Put your art skills to the test as you sit in an old field and see what Mother Nature has provided as a paint brush. You’ll receive a 5×7 canvas and your paint of choice, but Mother Nature give us the painting utensil…will it be a feather, a leaf or a nice twig….you decide. Meet at the amphitheater parking area.

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Nature Center is Open

FRIDAY, August 23, 2019

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Nature Center is Open

9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Stargazing!!!!! It’s that simple. Meet at the Twin Falls ballfield, lay on a blanket under the night sky and count stars. Bring a blanket or a chair. Clear weather is key. If you have a smart device, pre-load a star or night sky app so you have the opportunity to look up and determine what star, planet or constellation you may be seeing.
