2:00 p.m. Frogs Nature Film – enjoy this journey into the weird and wonderful world of frogs. 1 hour. YPP

10:00 a.m. Heart Healthy Walk– Join park naturalist, Paulita Cousin, in Blackwater Falls Lodge Lobby for this interpretive walk along a section of three park trails. About 2 miles, 90 minutes. YPP

1:00 p.m. Bust n’ Boom Talk– Join the park naturalist to find out a little history or our area. 30 minutes. YPP

1:30 p.m. Butterfly Craft- $0.94 + tax.

FRIDAY, September 13, 2019

Nature Center Open: 10:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m.

10:00 a.m. River Road Stroll– join park naturalist, Paulita Cousin, at Gentle Trail for this stroll along an old railroad grade that parallels the Blackwater river. About 1 mile, 1 hour. YPP

1:00 p.m. Meet our Turtles & Craft– Meet our turtles, hear their story and perhaps a little about their wild relatives. 1 hour. $2.83 + tax. Enjoy the turtle program regardless of crafting. YPP

2:00 p.m. Arrowhead Necklace Craft– 0.94 ¢ + tax.

SATURDAY, September 14, 2019

11:00 a.m. Backyard Bugs Film– Explore a variety of backyard habitats, learn about food webs, decomposition, biodiversity and more in this amazing adventure to discover bugs. 36 minutes. YPP

12:00 p.m. Insect Crafts– FREE

1:30 p.m. Whose Poop? Join park naturalist, Paulita Cousin, for this program about scat. 45 minutes. Participants may make a baggie of slime during this program. YPP

YPP– Young People for Parks Program
Youth ages 6-16 years attend three of the Blackwater Falls State Park nature or park story activities listed as YPP. Complete a ‘what I discovered’ feature and meet with us at the Nature Center to receive your YPP patch. Note: All programs including those marked YPP are open to any age.
