Blackwater Falls State Park offer several activities. Take time to visit the Nature Center, open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Open to the public. Please wear your mask and visit our exhibits.

10:30 a.m. North Woods Walk
Meet the park naturalist, Paulita Cousin, at Sled Run for this walk along a portion of two trails with short interpretive stops. About 70 minutes. YPP
12:00 p.m. Baggie Ice Cream
Let’s make a baggie of ice cream. No fee for this activity. Please observe any direction given regarding COVID guidelines.
1:00 p.m. Meet our Turtles & Craft
Park naturalist Paulita Cousin will meet you at the Nature Center to see turtles and hear about other turtles in West
Virginia. Conclude the program with a bank turtle craft. About 1 hour. Craft fee: $3.00. YPP
3:00 p.m. Raptors of West Virginia
Join the park naturalist, Paulita, to hear about some raptors of West Virginia. About 1 hour. YPP

10:00 a.m. Wooden Snake Craft
Time to paint a wiggly wooden snake. Craft fee: $2.50
11:00 a.m. West Virginia Snakes
Join the park naturalist, Paulita, to listen about various snakes that can be found in our state, perhaps dispel some snake myths and leave with a new appreciation of these reptiles. Live Eastern Ratsnake and/or Eastern Milksnake highlighted during presentation. About 1 hour. YPP
1:00 p.m. Pendleton Point Stroll
Stroll with naturalist, Paulita, by the salt sands sign at Pendleton Point Overlook for an interpretive stroll around the area. Participants receive a free geology book per familiar group. About 1 hour, 1/4 mile. YPP
2:00 p.m. Geology Card Craft
Join recreation assistants, Aspen and Brittany, to create a geology card. Craft fee: $2.00

Enjoy an interesting film about how trees “talk” to each other and other amazing facts about these silent sentinels. Craft fee: $2.00 YPP
1:00 p.m. Murder of Crows Nature Film
A group of crows is called a “murder.” Join the recreation assistants, Aspen and Brittany, to enjoy this film about crows. YPP
2:30 p.m. BINGO HOUR with recreation assistants Aspen and Brittany. Small novelty prize to winner(s). Come play!
