SUNDAY, August 4, 2019

Nature Center Open: 10:00 a.m.—4:30 p.m.

9:00 a.m. Interdenominational Worship Service in Blackwater Falls Lodge with Pastor Ruth Bullwinkle. Casual Dress

10:00 a.m. Mammals Nature Film & Fingerpainting* It is amazing facts and folklore about our favorite furry animals. Afterwards, use your fingers to create a work. No fee for craft. About 45 minutes. YPP

1:30 p.m. On the Wings of the Monarch Nature Film* About 1 hour. YPP

2:30 p.m. Butterfly Metamorphosis Craft * Craft fee: $1.89 + tax. YPP

10:00 a.m. Hummingbirds Nature Film* About 1 hour. YPP

11:30 a.m. Sand Art*Craft Fee: is for the necklace or bottle only at 0.94¢ + tax. The peel and stick sand art is free.

1:30 p.m. Coywolf Nature Film* YPP

2:30 p.m. Track Game* – Make a track game to take home. Craft fee: $1.18 + tax. YPP

Nature Center Open: 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

1:30 p.m. Teas and Tonics Walk*—Join the park naturalist Paulita Cousin to stroll around the area dabbling into the world of edible or medicinal plants. About 1 hour, 1 mile. YPP

3:00 p.m. Arrowhead Necklace Craft* Craft fee: $1.18 + tax

WEDNESDAY, August 7, 2019

Nature Center Open: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

9:00 a.m. Beginners Bird Walk*– Join park naturalist Paulita Cousin to stroll the area looking and listening for feathered friends. About 45 minutes, 1/2 mile. YPP

1:30 p.m. Monarch Butterfly*– Join park naturalist Paulita Cousin for this presentation about our state butterfly. About 30 minutes. YPP

2:00 p.m. Butterfly Craft* Craft fee: 0.94¢ + tax.

THURSDAY, August 8, 2019

Nature Center Open: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

10:00 a.m. Sport Bracelet Craft*- Make a bracelet using your favorite sport beads. No Charge for Craft.

11:30 a.m. A Murder of Crows Nature Film*– What is a group of Crows called? A Murder. Crows have a bad reputation but do you really know this intelligent bird? About 1 hour. YPP

1:30 p.m. Silly Stone Craft* Craft fee: 0.94¢ + tax.

3:00 p.m. Raccoon Nation Nature Film* Is human trash making the raccoons smarter? About 1 hour. YPP

YPP Young People for Parks Program
Youth ages 6-16 years attend three of the Blackwater Falls State Park nature or park story activities listed as YPP. Complete a ‘what I discovered’ feature and meet with us at the Nature Center to receive your YPP patch. Note: All programs including those marked YPP are open to any age.
