Stemwinder Grade Hike
Stemwinder Grade Hike is another Green Day Hike in March at Blackwater Falls State Park. Starting at 10:00 a.m., hikers will join park naturalist Paulita Cousin in the parking area of the seasonal petting zoo (former Stables) for a rare opportunity to walk an old horseback riding trail and cross country ski only trail.
The loop trail begins at the stables and encounters three trails: Davis, Stemwinder Grade and Red Spruce Riding trails. This is a trail approximately 2 miles in length, about 2-2.5 hours with a few short interpretive stops along the way.
Please contact the park naturalist at 304-259-5511 or email [email protected] for more information. No public restroom facilities are available at this hike start.
