Starry Starry Night

July 11, 2020 @ 1:01 am

At Chief Logan Lodge, a computerized telescope will be set up from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. to look at celestial bodies in the night sky. Meet at Chief Logan Lodge fire pit. We’ll look at the moon, planets, galaxies, and more. Learn seasonal constellations and other cool facts about the night sky.

Naturalist Lauren Cole will explain about a new comet visible to the naked eye or with binoculars in July. Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) was discovered in late March by the space telescope launched by NASA in 2009 according to earthsky.org.

This evening activity with a telescope is dependent on clear skies. Attendees are encouraged to bring binoculars.

Activities offered are open to the public without charge. Physical distancing will be observed.
