Starry Saturday Nights: Chief Logan

December 4, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Come out for a night of sky-watching! Look through a computerized telescope at various celestial bodies including the moon, planets, galaxies, and more. We begin at 7:00PM at the fire pit at Chief Logan Lodge until 10:00PM.

Learn seasonal constellations and other cool facts about the night sky. Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn should be visible on these nights. The new moon on the 4th will allow for better viewing of stars and planets, but the full moon on the 18th will show off the details in the moon.

Anywhere from 6 to 9 meteor showers are active during this time, including the Geminids, one of the best showers every year. Cloudiness may reduce visibility of celestial objects and cannot be helped.

Program will include a star wheel craft & a Moon Pie!

Participants of all ages welcome. No fee to participate. Social distancing must be maintained. Mask optional, but encouraged. Program can require patience that may be difficult for younger children. Rain will cancel this program.
