Snakes Alive!

July 31, 2021

Snakes Alive! is a great nature program presented by WVDNR biologist Jim Fregonara. You will learn about the importance of snakes and their habits and get an up-close look at a black rat snake, corn snake, milk snake, and garter snake, and, from a little farther distance, WV’s only two venomous snakes, the timber rattlesnake and northern copperhead. Snakes Alive! is an educational opportunity for all ages and held outdoors in a safe environment for learning about West Virginia’s wildlife.

This program is at the gazebo located in the picnic area near the nature center at Cacapon Resort State Park. Program begins at 7:00 p.m. Outdoor seating is provided as available but bringing your own lawn chair is encouraged.

This interpretive program is free to attend and open to the public. Your evening host is Naturalist Valerie Chaney. Chaney is a member of the National Association of Interpreters and a Certified Interpretive Guide.
