Saturday in the Park at Beech Fork

Tie Dye T-shirts (1:00 p.m.)– Purchase a t-shirt from the camp store ($10) and meet the Naturalist behind the headquarters building to make a patriotic red white and blue tie dye shirt! (red white and blue will be the only colors for this event!) All you need is the shirt. The naturalist supplies the dye and instruction.

Fishing Contest! (4:00 p.m.)– Kids 14 and under can bring their fishing poles to the dock behind the boat rentals to try and win ice cream!

Dutch Oven Desserts! (7:00 p.m.)– Come to the campfire circle to learn how to make desserts in a cast iron Dutch oven, and then sample your creation!

History Alive Presents: OSTENACO (8:00 p.m.) Come to the campfire circle (or stay after desserts!) to meet and learn some engaging history by Ostenaco, a Cherokee Chief who played a prominent role in the French and Indian war. Portrayed by Doug Wood, this program is made possible in part by the WV Humanities Council. The program is free and open to the public. YPP
