Enjoy these and other activities at Blackwater Falls:
Saturday, March 2, begins with a visit to the Nature Center between 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
8:30 a.m. Rambling “Ranger” is park naturalist Paulita Cousin at Blackwater Lodge Lobby to discover the highlighted animal display of the day and ask questions about the park, trails, sled run, etc. About 1 hour and a great time to talk about Blackwater Falls and plan your day.
10:00 a.m. Nature Walk– Join in a walk along a section of three park trails. Meet at Blackwater Lodge Lobby. Program includes short interpretive stops. About 2 miles. 90 minutes.
12:30 p.m. Cardboard Bird Mask Craft is at the Nature Center. How creative are you with cardboard, construction paper and glue? Children under 10 need accompanied by an adult to assist with clipping of cardboard.
2:30 p.m. Introduction to Winter Survival – Join the naturalist, Paulita Cousin, in exploring safe ways to winter hike and how to survive an unexpected night out. About 1 hour. YPP
3:30 p.m. Meet our turtles and do a turtle craft at the Nature Center. About 30 minutes. YPP
Sunday, March 3
10:00 a.m. Spruce Bogs & Berries meets at the trailhead of Gentle Trail for this fun yet educational walk along Yellow Birch Trail. 70 minutes. YPP. About 1 mile.
1:30 p.m. Fireside Stories is at the Nature Center. Sit near the fireplace as Jenna starts the story. There are tasty treats during Fireside Story time. About 1 hour.
3:30 p.m. Snowflake Craft & Sled Craft welcomes visitors indoors for conversation and crafting. 30 minutes.
