Quilting Retreat at Cass Community Center

Debbie Walker and Linda Adams offer a Quilting Retreat Workshop as a prelude to Appalachian Heritage Day held at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. Designed for all ages, the hands-on workshop caterers to those wanting to learn how to quilt. Two half-day classes and one full-day class feature table toppers and pillows. Classes are fee-based and include instruction, kits and applicable taxes.

Classes include:

Bird Table Topper
Thursday, August 14
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Learn a version of the expanding block featuring blocks of West Virginia Birds.
Workshop fee: $40

Dresden Plate Pillow
Thursday, August 14
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Learn to cut and make a Dresden Plate as a pillow top from four color-ways.
Workshop fee: $35

Calico Rose Table Topper
Friday, August 15
Full day workshop
Learn to string piece sections and assemble for a topper; appliqué with wool; other appliqué options demonstrated.
Workshop fee: $55
