History on the water is elevated on this leisurely tour of Tygart Lake in Grafton, West Virginia when aboard the “Princess” tour boat. Hear stories about the eleven men who died building the Tygart dam, the five communities under water, and native Americans of the area, Civil War recounts, and various stories that weave a rich treasure of the history of Tygart Lake, valley, dam, and area.

Offered and hosted by Tygart Lake Marina on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., reservations are available at the Open Cruise page of marina operations. Tygart Lake State Park cannot make Princess Cruise Ship Tour reservations but encourage taking advantage of this opportunity the marina operator offers. It is a very nice Sunday afternoon cruise on Tygart Lake.

The cruise type is historic and scenic and is fee based at $20 per person. The tour is about two hours round trip. Walk downs are welcome on a first come first served basis. These cruises do sell out regularly. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance. Please prepare to board at the Tygart Lake Marina in Grafton, WV 45 minutes prior to departure time.
