Ostenaco – History Alive! at Beech Fork State Park

See history come alive at Beech Fork State Park with this portrayal of Ostenaco, leader of Cherokee warriors during the French and Indian War. Ostenaco allied with Virginia military leaders against northern tribes fighting with the French and helped create a vital alliance for British colonial settlements in much of present West Virginia. He also contributed to the expansion of English-speaking people into Western Virginia. Ostenaco will be portrayed by Doug Wood of Hurricane.

Event starts at 8 p.m in the activity room at the park headquarters building. Program is family friendly and lasts about one hour. Free and open to the public.
