New Moon, Wildlife and Owl programs at Chief Logan

Fall weather encourages individuals to get outdoors. Join Naturalist Lauren Cole at these planned activities.

October 16, 2020

A New Moon Hike starts at the park museum at 8:00 p.m. Cliffside Trail is an easy hike but some of the trail has some rocks and roots. Bring a flashlight to use if necessary. Participants will learn about nocturnal animals and your own night vision. Open to the public without charge.

October 17, 2020

Wildlife Exhibit Tours are planned from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. If you want a special tour, ask the attendant on duty. Otherwise naturalist Lauren Cole will be at the black bear paddock, working with the bears and talking about the dangers of feeding wildlife and the consequences. Exhibit closed in the event or rain or inclement weather.

An Owl Prowl is an evening walk that begins at 8:00 p.m. from Chief Logan Museum. Learn about West Virginia’s owls and your own night vision.
