Log Cabin Craft
Join the staff to stain and glue together a decorative log cabin. Craft fee: $12.00

12:00 p.m.
Meet the Coywolf Nature Film
This hour long film that takes you about the extraordinary tale of adaptation and evolution of a new hybrid through the parking lots and backyards of Toronto to the streets of New York. YPP

Sand Art
Join the staff to add sand to pre-pasted pictures. FREE

3:00 p.m.
Ravens-Intelligence in Flight Nature Film
This hour long film about this relative of the crow found everywhere in the northern hemisphere and able to adapt to live in multiple climates. YPP

Birds and Blooms Walk
Join park naturalist, Paulita, for this stroll along park trails listening and looking for feathered friends and blooming plants. You don’t have to know birds or blooms to enjoy this morning activity. About 1 mile, 1 hour. YPP

Watercolor Butterfly Craft
Join the staff to use watercolor paint on paper wings to attach to a plastic body for this butterfly craft. Craft fee: $1.00

11:00 a.m.
On the Wings of the Monarch Nature Film
This hour long documentary follows a wondrous journey into the world of the monarch butterfly.
From here to Mexico! YPP

1:00 p.m.
Vultures! Nature’s Cleanup Crew
Join the naturalist to learn the different types of vultures found in the area and their role in the ecosystem. Afterwards create your own baggie of vulture vomit (slime) to take home. We have a lot of fun!About 45 minutes. YPP

Beavers Nature Film
It’s about a swim with Beavers and experiencing the rich aquatic habitat of one of nature’s greatest structural engineers. About 1 hour. YPP

Family Fun Scavenger Hunt
Pick up a list of things to take a selfie with and a list of things to find in the park. Return to Nature Center at 2:00 p.m. to go over list and winner

11:00 a.m.
CSI: Creek Scene Investigation
Join Naturalist Kenny in Blackwater Falls Lodge, Lobby to walk to Shay Run in search of creek critters. You will get WET! Sturdy shoes recommended. About 1 hour. YPP

1:00 p.m.
Oh Honeybee!
Discover the life of a honeybee with Naturalist Kenny and where honey bees came from, how it became our state insect all while creating a votive candle. Craft fee: $4.00, About 1 hour. . YPP

2:30 p.m.
Honeycomb Candle Craft
Join the staff to create a candle from a honeycomb. Craft fee: $2.00

3:00 p.m. Native Bees– Join the naturalist for an introduction to native bees while creating a mason bee house. About 45 minutes. Craft fee: $2.00 YPP

Jewelry Craft
Join the staff to create some fun jewelry from friendship bracelet to paracord to pendant. Craft fee varies up to $4.00

11:30 p.m.
Gingerbread Man Craft
Join the staff to decorate a cardboard gingerbread man for $1.00.

12:30 p.m.
Movie Time
Join the staff for this rated G movie about a young girl from Kansas who is whisked away by a twister to another land. About 2 hours.
