As autumn colors change a deciduous forest, enjoy these nature based activities at Blackwater Falls State Park.

The Nature Center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All scheduled activities begin at the nature center unless otherwise noted.
Caution-Trees at Work ! Walk
Join naturalist’s Paulita and Madelene for this interpretive stroll along Balsam Fir Trail. About 1.5 miles, 90 minutes.
Leaf/Flower Press Craft
Brittany welcomes you to the nature center to create a plant press to take home. Craft fee: $3.00.
Mason Jar Craft
It is a fall craft idea using a Mason Jar. Activity occurs outside on the side porch. Craft fee: $5.00 and includes the jar, decorative decals and candle.
1:00– 3:00 p.m.
Let’s create a collage pencil holder for free. Activity will occur outside on the side porch.
Please note: The activity room and store of Nature Center is closed to the public after 12:30 p.m. for the naturalist teaching a master naturalist program.

The Buzz on Bees & Craft
Let’s learn about bees! Madelene has a story to tell about honey bees, beekeeping and perhaps a touch on native bees. And if you like, create a bracelet or candle for $2.00, mason bee house craft $3.00. About 1 hour. YPP
Family Movie & Create a Scarecrow
Join the attendant, Brittany, to use construction paper and imagination to create a scarecrow while watching a movie about a mysterious mansion, friendly ghost and dogs. About 90 minutes. Rated G Movie.
The Scoop on Dirt
It’s about soil and its connection with the environment. About 30 minutes. This activity occurs outdoors on the side porch. YPP
Fossil Find Craft
It’s time to learn a little about fossils then use a toothbrush to “dig out” your fossil. About 1 hour. YPP
