SUMMARY:National Trails Day Hike: Tygart Lake
DESCRIPTION:A special hike on June 3\, 2023 recognizes National Trails Day. First things first\, hikers will park and meet at the Tygart Lake Dam Visitors Center parking area at or before 10:00AM. Participants will meet Tygart Lake State Park Naturalist\, Jacob Jackson. \nThe hike begins at the parking area and follows the Dam Trail from the USACE parking area to Tygart Lake State Park Lodge (it’s about a 1½-mile loop) returning to the parking area. We will also have an opportunity to walk out on the Tygart Dam itself! \nSturdy hiking boots or hiking shoes are suggested. A trails day hiking patch is presented at the conclusion of the guided hike to each hiker. \nNational Trails Day is an initiative to unite all muscle-powered trail activities with the goal of connecting more people to trails.
