National Trails Day at Tygart Lake
Set foot from Tygart Lake State Park Nature Center for a National Trails Day Hike with naturalist and historian Jacob Jackson. Wear your favorite hiking boots and venture out on the Ridge and Lake Trails. Earn your trails day patch at the conclusion of the hike.
The 10:00 a.m. start will include discovering some of the plants and animals diversity at Tygart Lake State Park. National Trails Day is a “hiking holiday” observed nationwide on the first Saturday in June. The activity is more about hiking, however, on the occasional stop along the way the naturalist will share interesting stories about the area and park.
The hike is approximately 2 miles in length. Sturdy shoes are recommended when hiking.
Jackson is a member of National Association of Interpreters and a Certified Interpretive Guide. For more information, contact [email protected] or call Tygart Lake State Park at 304-265-6144.
